Sorry I've been away for so long - we were waiting for our travel dates then found out that the birth mother has had her parental rights reinstated... which is great for the kids (if she can take care of them) but sad for us. Thank goodness we had not bought our tickets and VISAs yet!
I'm also glad that this happened before we traveled instead of between trips.
We're really ok though.
There are thousands of children in Russia that need homes and we're still ready and able to give one of them a loving place to grow up.
We have decided to adopt one child at this time since waiting for two takes such a long time and we've been at this for a year and a half now.
Having to be flexible is the understatement of the year in the IA process.
So we continue to wait - again.

Jane I'm so sorry for this roller coaster ride you are going through right now. I hope the wait for another referral won't be a long one.
I am so sorry to hear this news. I can't imagine the mixed feelings that you must be experiencing. It seems like you have had an extra long journey. I hope some good news comes very soon.
So sorry to hear this but I'm glad you're okay with it. As sad as it always is it's a blessing that it happened before you traveled.
Hoping your change in request will speed up the process for you.
I know this is hard. The journey our babies is long and hard but worth it. I will never understand why it has to be so difficult but what I do know is at the end of it all your baby will be home. Then the real adventure begins. Keep you chin up. I will be praying for a quick referral.
Jane & Jim,
I have been following your blog since you e-mailed that you are with AAI and in Houston! I am so sorry to hear about the lost referral. Our first referral of a sibling group also did not work out, but in the end it was for a reason, so that we could be brought together with our son. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you wait, just a little longer, to meet your child.
Chris
I am so sorry you have to deal with this, unfortunately, this happens all too often, I think I either had to turn down or lost 6 different referrals before I got my two. I'm glad you're okay with it, but it still is hard.
Hi Jane--I'm sorry to hear your news. I'll be thinking of you guys.
I'm so sorry to hear about your referrals. I know it is very disappointing whether you've met them or not. I hope you are doing okay. You'll be in my prayers.
Jim and Jane - I am so sorry to hear this news. We'll keep you in our prayers and hope you hear news of a child soon. You're absolutely right about there being so many children and God has the perfect one in mind for you.
I know it must have been so hard to hear that news. We're on pins and needles waiting for travel dates. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers. Keep the faith, it WILL happen for you guys.
I am so sorry to hear about your referrals - I can only imagine how disappointing that must be. The child meant to be with you awaits you- I hope you hear good news really soon!
I am so sorry to hear about you losing your referrals. This journey has so many ups and downs. We have been at this process since March of 2007, we had to switch countries, but haven't had a referral yet. I can't imagine what you are going through. It is so hard to wait already. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
I'm so sorry to hear this. I too hope you hear good news really soon!
(((hugs))) I'm sorry to hear this news...but I'm glad to know that you are taking it in stride. Adoption is such a winding & difficult road! Hang in there...hopefully a new referral will come soon!!
I'm glad to hear your hearts are not heavy at this news. I'm approved for two, but my application says one child or siblings. Could you do something like that? I like having that door open.
sorry for your loss. we experienced a lost referral while physically in samara, russia. losing a referral is hard!
I'm sorry to hear this news. I hope that you get a new referral soon.
