I've been collecting sites, lists, blogs etc. since we started this process in Dec. 06. Whenever I come across something of interest, I save it to my favorites. Well, my favorites list is huge and overflowing! I've been slowing going through them, deleting what I don't need any longer and rediscovering some others.
I came across one that I really liked and I felt the need to post - just in case someone can use it.
The title is "Top Ten Tips for the First Year of Placement" by Deborah Gray, MSW, MPA.
Here's the link: Top Ten Tips for the First Year of Placement
If anyone out there has any other suggestions of things they've tried and worked (or not), please...share!
Oh, and I want to thank Megan in Washington for the wonderful fleece suit and rubber pants!
We are both members of the Yahoo Group: Snowsuit Swap - it's for people who are adopting and need a snowsuit for just one trip. If you have one, you send it to whoever needs it and they just pay for shipping - Megan refused to let me pay! SO SWEET. Thank you Megan!!

Sorry, nothing to offer... I am still trying to figure this "mom" thing out and its been over a year. I just know patience and love basically helps. Hoping you get that call SOON!
That's a great list to focus on for the first year. We've tried many things and we're still trying others. I think it really depends on the child. I know you all will do great. I hope you hear soon about going back!
That's a great list. Thanks for sharing it. Like Rachel, we've tried alot of these things and will continue to focus on others. I hope you are doing well as you wait for that court date!
I can only imagine how detailed your lists are! Hoping for news soon.

If there is one of the things on the list that I can ABSOLUTELY recommend, it is the "get sleep, eat good, etc..." one. Our worst days were when one of us was lacking sleep or was cranky because we hadn't eaten! Having a toddler (or 2) will be the easiest diet you've ever been on because it's easy to forget to eat BUT you have to remember to! :-) You are going to do AWESOME!
