Nightmare

I had a nightmare last night.
Me and my new kiddo, a little boy about 3 years old (cute as can be, by the way) were alone in the kitchen just staring at each other not knowing what to say because neither of us knew each other's language. It was very quiet in the house!

Could this possibly happen?!!! NAHHHH

I need to start learning Russian ASAP!
I've ordered this CD: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000AV4PZA and am dying to know how it is.
I have another CD that I've been using for about a year and a half but it's not for talking to toddlers. I think it's taught me quite a bit though.

I know the basics: counting, hi, bye, how are you, what's your name?, my name is Jane, milk, dog, thank you, you're welcome, I love you, I understand, I don't understand, yes, no, Mrs., Mr., etc.
I can also sound out the alphabet (transliterate).

I'm have a L O N G way to go!
I'll let you know how the new CD is.

I think it's a good sign! I bet you get another referral very soon. I used the Theresa Kelleher (sp?) CD's for parents adopting from Russia. They helped me tremendously. If you need the link, e-mail me and I will see if I can find it.

I would love to be able understand, speak and write in Russian. That is my hope.

I've never seen that CD before. Hope your dream is a good sign of things to come but with more talking.

You'll be fine! While I think it's really important to know some Russian, when I do in to play with the little ones in the orphanage, I don't need much. ;> Counting is great. "Where is it?" "There it is!" "What is that?" make for plenty of fun. And, they start speaking English back to me withing minutes! It's amazing. I just mix my Russian and English.

If I can help (I do know some Russian) please let me know.

There's a good list in the Russia forum of adoption.com that tells kid phrases.

Let us know how the cd turns out!

That's great that you are learning so many Russian words. It sounds like you are well on your way so you will be able to communicate with your kiddos! I hope you all hear good news soon!
