I have a 5 year old!

Our adorable little Cooper turns 5 today!  He came home when he was 39 months old and it seems like he's always been with us.
There's one word that describes him perfectly:  INTENSE

He does everything with enthusiasm!  He loves hard (so hard he'll hurt you when he kisses you!), he plays hard (frequently running, jumping, hopping, bouncing, jumping - did I say jumping? He'll jump down 1/2 the stairs in our house giving me a heart attack each time.  He has more energy than all of us combined) and he works hard (referring to his school work - he's very smart and catches on quickly).
The boy is a non-stop talker.  Even when you've moved into another room or started another conversation - with someone else - he just keeps on talking...
He's also one of the funniest guys I know. He has a great sense of humor and can laugh at himself when he goofs up something.

He has gotten back into the old habit of coming to our bed each night.  He got up 3 times last night.  I'm so tired that he gets into our bed on my side and I don't even know he's there! Jim ends up putting him back into his bed. Any suggestions on how to make him stay in his bed will be greatly appreciated!

His stats:  He's SMALL.  38" tall and 35 lbs.  Kara is the same but she's 15 months younger.  He's not even on the charts for his height.  It's concerning.  I've contacted the Ped. again about getting a referral to a Ped. Endocrinologist.

He adores Superman, Spiderman and Batman. Oh and Iron Man and the Hulk too.  They save people.  He loves firemen and fire trucks too because they rescue people... and policemen... see a pattern?

I asked him a few 'birthday' questions today for posterity.
I asked if he wanted to get married someday.  "Yes, to you Mommy"
I asked what was his favorite toy right now. "Buzz Lightyear"
I asked how old he thought Mommy was.  "6"
I asked how old he thought Daddy was.  "7"
I asked what he wanted to be when he grew up.  "Spiderman - the real one who saves people"

We just love this guy and we are so lucky to have him.
Happy Birthday Cooper!

Hi Jane- Cooper has a great day for a birthday! Mine is also today! We have a little guy from Russia too who is Kara's age, and he is small. I hope you get the referral to a pediatric endocronologist. I would like to hear what he or she has to say. I think we will also be asking for a referral on Small Fry's 4th birthday.

Cooper sounds so smart even from reading your previous posts! (Kindergarten readiness) I remember when you brought both of them home. What a blessing! Happy Birthday Cooper, hope your day is GREAT!

Happy Birthday Cooper!!!!!!

Daniel and Cooper would get along great - I usually have several heart attacks a day. Daniel loves to jump off of things too!!

I wish I was 6 and Troy was 7 again!!

Happy birthday, Cooper! Did I ever tell you that my oldest goes to a pediatric endocrinologist? He has been taking growth hormone since he was 6 (he is 13 now). His growth has been amazing! Remind me to talk to you about it the next time I see you.

Jane,
Christian is 6.5 years old, 42" tall and weighs 36.5 lbs. We are almost ready to go back for our second endo visit to see what progress he's made growing since his last visit so we know what we're facing. Alexandra is Cooper's age and basically his size. We're going to wait a year or so before we do anything with her. I totally understand your concern!!!
