Ok, I know I’ve been AWOL for awhile but there’s just not much to say!
Well, there is a smidgen of an update: We’re checking into raising our age-range for the kids up to 6 years old. From what we’ve heard, it is difficult to get 2 siblings under four. I’ll keep you updated on this.
On a totally different note: I travel about 20 miles to and from work, but we’re in a big city so it takes about an hour each way. I’ve seen many odd sights during my commute in all these years. Some of them are: (and NO, I am not kidding)
- a man shaving with an electric razor
- a man lifting a dumbbell with one hand
- women putting on makeup – common one
- a man brushing his teeth
- a woman reading the newspaper
- TONS of wild singing and arms moving all over the place (alone)
and yesterday, I saw a man playing away on his harmonica whilst driving with his knee
Have any of you witnessed anything weird?

Peter and I spent our waiting periods, the flights, and all our sleepless nights reading like crazy and learning Russian. Are you finding time to do these things? Do you need advice on what to read and study? -ears@alumni.brown.edu
Other than seeing commuters "secretly" pick their noses, I think the harmonica tops anything I've ever seen during my CA commutes to and from work!
Ohhhh... the commute. The dreaded commute. We had "rain" on Monday (aka a slight drizzle). It took me 3 hours to go 40 miles. I am a bad person sitting in traffic - I do my makeup, but I do have a 10 mph rule. If I'm over 10 mph then I won't do anything. I know, I know... it's still horrible. :-) We're glad you're back and posting!
This was so funny! Not the time it takes you to get to work, but all the crazy things you see! As someone who no longer sees people over the age of 1 during the day, I really enjoyed reading about your commute!
Oh, I forgot,
Congratulations on changing your age preference. We were told it might take a long time for us to get siblings under 4 too so we decided to change our request to twins, siblings under 4 (with one under 18 months), or just one under 18 months. Good move!
Keep us posted on the age range decision you are making. For me - the harmonica tops the list with someone brushing their teeth next -I mean where do you spit - Yuck!! Loved the list!!
I saw a woman driving today with curlers in her hair. I was confused and wondered how she was planning on fixing her hair in the car.
Good luck making your decision on age.
I see a lot of singers too and I am one of them as well. It is so liberating. Other than that I have seen only the common stuff, like picking noses, putting on make up and oh yeah one of my favorites, trying to adjust a contact lense (or trying to get something out of the eye). I don't understand why that person didn't STOP to do that?
